Healing prayer

Dear God

Awaken me

Take me in your palms today

Place me in the front row

And teach me how to let go

Of the stubborn pain in my soul

Dear God

Give me your vision

Through your eyes

Teach me how to pray

To help the world each day

And aid the rejected to find a way 

Dear God

Through your strength

Give power to the weak

And a straight path to the astray

Lend hope to empty hearts

And erase the doubts in human minds

Dear god

With your power

Give sight to the blind

And hearing to the deaf 

And silence to the gossiper 

Only good words to be spoken

Dear god

With your hope

Teach me to give love to empty hearts

To fill them with laughter and joy

Help them float along the waves 

And release deep-seated pain 

Dear God

With your empathy

Bring honesty to the dishonest

Plant family love in their hearts 

To brighten every child’s day

Live happily with no pain

I wrote this poem because we often forget about our true purpose in life and how to enjoy what we have. We find ourselves rushing and stressing out to get the next position, the big house, and more fame, thinking that we are here to stay for eternity. Along the way of that rush, we forget about all the blessings God has given us and we end up missing out on the most meaningful things in life. 

We want to fix things instantly, connect with our children more, help our family and neighbors, and reach out to people who truly care. But in most cases, things get in our way. All that rush and stress, prioritizing success, and always lacking something or someone can leave us empty inside. One day, I found myself in this same position. I was displaced from my dream job. I thought I was irreplaceable but when it occurred, my vision of success was crushed and I was left with a confused mind.

So, I reconnected with God, the One who gave us all the necessary elements for success and happy life. It was my way out of a rut situation and into regaining clarity and new purpose. When I questioned the reasons for losing  my career—a career for which  I spent decades working hard—I felt I was a target for unhappiness even when  happiness was all around me.

Connecting with God provided me with unconditional love for everything that I have and made me realize that what I don’t have was never meant for me. I have a refrigerator that keeps my food cold, I have a stove to cook my food on and I have a healthy sight so I can see the world. These blessings are all priceless. 

If you’re experiencing pain, have a confused mind, lack clarity and purpose, or simply if things aren’t going your way, ask God for help. God is everywhere, you can simply speak to him and ask him to bring you back to joy and the peaceful life you’re meant to live. It will give you back the strength to love, to be present every day, and give you the ability to help others. 

I want to bring love to your heart and with that comes the love of God and reconnecting with Him. Release the pain and all your needs and wants and come to your pure and loving person as you were meant to be. Embrace all that you have and be grateful for it each day.

Heal yourself and your life, and see each day as a blessing and a gift. Reconnect with the people who truly care about you and let go of the ones who don’t. I hope the healing prayer helps you see the world through a different lens and aids you to live a more meaningful life of love and peace.
