From darkness to light

I see you, the sparkle left your eye

And flew to the wilderness of a dark forest

His departing has left your soul in mourning

So desperate, full of pain and lonely

.

The seasons have changed but you remain

As a broken clock on the wall still standing

Living each day and repeating yesterday

Full of distraction and the emptiness he left

.

In the nights when you were a night watch

And the endless tears down your cheeks

Watching the phone to see if it rings at all

What would you have given for a missed call

.

The mornings awaken tired for self-care

Lonely equipment, mat, house full of dust

All keep thinking the nights full of empty lust

Just to live once more for the same touch

.

You have become a screen and a password

Your beauty fading, feeling of no value as such

Do you ever wonder where the girl has traveled

Get up sis, it’s not you inside that body

.

You must fight and stand alone proud

Nothing is worth fighting for to capture your heart

Love should come easy without the fear

Get up, feel the sun, and don’t shed another tear

.

The beauty born with so much passion inside

Loved the people, smiled and had a lot of pride

Gave the teaching of well-being and such

You were the girl that loved herself so much

.

You were my hero, the endless warrior

Who fights for rights and never bowed down

But he crushed your wings and left you sad

Time to come home to all that you had

.

Clean the dust and bring the girl that left you

Look inside, say farewell to the ones that reject you,

Bring your hidden smile and give gratitude

And live every day with a positive attitude

.

Embrace the day with so many possibilities

Be the same girl born with all the abilities

Leave all the hurts in the path of life

To grow and prosper with someone to love.

Background

I was inspired to write this poem because so many people are living their lives in the past filled with so much pain from unrequited love, and are not moving forward. They repeat each day thinking about the past and hoping that they will be reunited with the ones they love, and create future possibilities and fantasies in their own heads.

There is nothing wrong with missing someone, but many people can be depressed for a long time and stuck in the same moment over and over again, and it is unhealthy. No one is worth losing time, energy and your inner beauty over.

People can start working on themselves through meditation, prayer, affirmations and recognize how they can become a better version of themselves. My message for anyone who is suffering from love loss is to move forward and start thinking about the future and the new possibilities with new love that will come. Imagine a new, happy you!
